Policy and Advocacy

At the Prevent Cancer Foundation, our vision is a world where cancer is preventable, detectable and beatable for all.  To achieve this, the Foundation advocates for increased funding and research, champions initiatives that reduce disparities and supports legislation that improves access to care and screenings.

Together, we can affect great change through advocacy efforts at local, state and national levels.

Policy priorities and support

The following policy priorities drive the Prevent Cancer Foundation’s advocacy. We accomplish our work through collaborating with the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch (including federal agencies) as well as peer organizations, state legislatures, and relevant stakeholders, including our grassroots advocates.

As part of this collaboration, the Foundation signs on to joint letters of support or opposition of key issues. These “sign-on letters” are a powerful tool in our advocacy efforts, serving as collective statements of where the cancer and public health advocacy organizations stand on various issues. By including signatures from a diverse array of individuals, organizations and stakeholders, these letters amplify our voice and demonstrate broad-based consensus.

Where do you stand?

The Prevent Cancer Foundation supports legislation that will enable people to access the screenings and services they need to prevent, detect and treat cancer.
