Lisa McGovern is the Executive Director of the Prevent Cancer Foundation’s Congressional Families program. She has spent two decades cultivating relationships with national political leaders, encouraging them to use their platforms to promote cancer prevention and early detection. She works with Members of Congress and their spouses to host site visits, place op-eds and social media content and build bipartisan support to stop cancer. She also plans high-profile Capitol Hill events to raise awareness about the Foundation’s work, featuring honorees like Al Roker, Patrick Dempsey, Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Chris Evert. Lisa lost her mother to lung cancer in 1996, shortly after her husband Jim was elected to Congress. They are the proud parents of Patrick and Molly.
