Your holiday gift guide for cancer prevention
The holidays are right around the corner, and the hunt for the perfect gift begins! Whether you’re looking to spend a lot or a little, we’ve got you covered with the perfect present ideas. For all the different people in your life, check out the Prevent Cancer Foundation’s holiday gift guide:
Gifts for the foodie
New kitchen supplies can be a great holiday gift for the foodies in your life. New bowls, plates or silverware are all items that are both special and practical. Bento boxes and Tupperware are also helpful gifts to encourage healthy meal prepping. Heavier duty equipment like an immersion blender is useful to make smoothies, soups and sauces for all of the new recipes your friend or loved one may want to try in the new year. Speaking of recipes, a fun recipe book can spice up their life. Make your gift even more personal by getting them a book tailored to their favorite foods, holidays or seasons.
If you want to give someone actual food, homemade hot chocolate mixes are a fun and creative treat, which contains much less sugar than store bought hot chocolate. Fancy assorted tea bags are another great gift for a foodie friend who enjoys trying new things.

Heading to a holiday party at a friend or family member’s house? You can never go wrong with a fruit basket—it’s healthy, delicious and you can make it festive by adding in-season fruits. Finally, a gift card to a food subscription service that provides weekly or monthly meal kits is a nice way of gifting your friend the luxury of a pre-prepped meal. For all the days they don’t want to cook, this gift will come in handy.
Gifts for the fitness fanatic
That one person in your life who always is out on a run or walk could probably use some new sneakers. Save them a trip to the running store and get them a new pair of shoes for the holidays. Help your friends stay active all the time and get them a walking pad for their office. They can get their steps in, stimulate their brains and keep moving—all while getting their work done. If they prefer to save their physical activity for outside of work, treat yourself and a friend to a fun new workout class.

If you’re looking to splurge on someone special, consider a new smart watch. Whether it’s an Apple watch, Garmin or Fitbit, your loved one will appreciate the chance to track their workouts and progress. For some smaller gift ideas, consider gifting new equipment they can use at home or in the gym, like resistance bands, ankle and wrist weights, or a yoga mat. No matter what you get the health nut in your life, they’ll always think of you next time they get moving.
Gifts for the skin care queen
Even the beauty guru in your life needs sun protection. This year for the holidays, get them a nice sunscreen, maybe one they wouldn’t normally purchase themselves. If they like to wear makeup regularly, you can even buy them tinted sunscreen. (But make sure to continue applying sunscreen even if your makeup includes SPF!) Your lips also need to be protected, so for a small gift, get them lip balm or lipstick that contains SPF. Self-tanner and bronzer will give your friend that glowing tanned look they want to achieve, without putting themselves at risk for cáncer de piel.

If your skin care-focused friend has a holiday vacation coming up, or maybe an annual beach trip in the summer, gift them some items that will come in handy. A new beach umbrella is practical and protective for multiple people at once. If they’re on the go, a stylish beach hat or cute pair of sunglasses can keep your friend looking fashionable and protect their eyes and skin.
Gifts for the giving heart
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to celebrate the season, consider making a donation to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Instead of a traditional gift, your contribution could support cancer prevention and early detection, helping to save lives and make a real difference in communities across the country. Not only is this a thoughtful way to show you care, but it also spreads hope and support to those affected by cancer. Plus, you can pay tribute to a loved one and donate in their honor. When you donate, you’ll receive a link in your receipt with a free printable card that you can give to show your loved one the donation was made for them.
No matter what you purchase for the people in your life this holiday season, give them the gift of good health. Stay happy, healthy and ahead of cancer this year!
