Allison Steinberg, MSN, MPH, RN, OCN, NPD-BC, is an experienced oncology nurse and educator based in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area. She began her oncology career as a nurse clinician at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she cared for patients from diagnosis through end-of-life.

Allison earned dual master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University: a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on education and a Master of Public Health (MPH). Her commitment to oncology nursing education extends beyond the United States; she has practiced nursing in Singapore and Ethiopia and serves on the Education Committee of the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care. She holds two specialty certifications – one in Oncology (OCN© and the other in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC©).

In 2013, Allison joined Sibley Memorial Hospital, part of Johns Hopkins Medicine as an oncology nurse specialist within the hospital’s education office. In this capacity, she was instrumental in developing and implementing educational programs for oncology nursing staff. Her most recent role at Sibley was a Patient Care Services Director – leading the Nursing Professional Development and Education Department – where she oversaw the team of nurse educators, rapid response nurses, wound care and diabetes specialists.

Throughout her career, Allison has demonstrated a strong passion for oncology nursing and education, both domestically and internationally. Allison is excited to bring her clinical experience to expand the impact of the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
