A Black grandmother is seated with her daughter and grandson hugging her from behind. All three are facing forward and grinning. There is a green cartoon bird with an orange beak resting on Grandma's shoulder.

Rencontrez Earl E. Bird

Il prend soin de lui-même et de son troupeau.

When it comes to checking your health, be like Earl: Don’t wait for signs or symptoms of cancer to appear:

  • Learn the routine cancer screenings you need
  • Identify when and how often you need them
  • Schedule your appointments.
  • Be aware of the signs and symptoms of cancer so you can advocate for your health.
  • Encourage your flock to get the screenings they need. (Which can sometimes be from the comfort of their own nest!)

Détection précoce = meilleurs résultats®, so check your health today.

United States of Earl

According to the Prevent Cancer Foundation’s 2024 Early Detection Survey, nearly 70% of U. S. adults are behind on at least one routine cancer screening. United States of Earl is a social media campaign led by the Foundation’s Congressional Families Program to spread the word across the United States and around the world about the importance of routine cancer screenings.

We’ve enlisted Earl E. Bird—our cheery mascot who represents being proactive about your health—as your partner to bring attention to this important message. Help us educate the public about cancer prevention and early detection guidelines, increase screening rates and save lives.

How to participate:

  1. Print out Earl E. Bird and cut along the dotted lines to create your own flat Earl.
  2. Take a photo of Earl (Feel free to hop in the photo too!) It can be at your favorite monument, landmark or other spot that represents your home. Or consider taking Earl to a local health care provider or along on a healthy activity (at the doctor’s or dentist’s office, going for a run, eating a healthy meal, etc.) to make a clear link to our prevention and early detection messaging. Horizontal images work best.
  3. Share on social media with #BetterOutcomes and submit it via the form below so we can amplify and add your submission to our website!
