The Prevent Cancer Foundation 5K is just 5 days away, and I’m so excited that my team, “KK’s Cancer Kickers” is going strong with 60 members, and we’re almost to our fundraising goal of $10,000, making us the top fundraising team!

Like everyone else, I’ve been touched by cancer through my family and friends. That’s why I’m proud to support the Foundation and their work. They want to stop cancer before it starts, and are the only health organization whose sole focus is the cancer prevention.

This past spring, I participated in the Save Your Skin video campaign to teach individuals how to enjoy the sun, while protecting their skin from cancer.  I’m delighted that my friends at MOTT 50 are supporting the race by offering 10% off all skin protection clothing, and providing one of the race prizes.  I also want to thank Ella-Rue boutique for generously donating 10% of sales on Friday Sept 23rd to KK’s Cancer Kickers Prevent Cancer Foundation 5K team. Excellent!

Crossing the finish line at the 2010 Prevent Cancer Fdn 5k!

Now I’m challenging all my friends in the Washington area to get involved with the race – it’s not too late.  It’s a family friendly walk/run on Saturday, September 24 in beautiful West Potomac Park.  It’s amazing to watch the sun come up over the Washington Monument before the race, and then run along the Potomac.  It’s all for a great cause, and a great way to start your weekend.

Register today and join me and the other team members of KK’s Cancer Kickers!  Your registration and all funds you raise will support the Foundation’s work and hopefully spare someone you love the heartache of cancer.
