WASHINGTON, D.C. — On May 9, the Prevent Cancer Foundation® will host its 25th annual spring gala to advance the Foundation’s mission of saving lives across all populations through cancer prevention and early detection. The Foundation will welcome distinguished guests to the National Building Museum, including members of Congress, diplomats, and leaders in the business, government, medical, sports, media, social and philanthropic communities. The Foundation’s goal is to raise $1.7 million for cancer prevention and early detection.

Switzerland Ambassador, His Excellency, Martin Dahinden and Mrs. Anita Dahinden will serve as honorary patrons of the event, Switzerland Postcard Perfect. Senators Bill Cassidy and Mazie Hirono will be honored as 2019 Cancer Champions for their leadership in cancer prevention and early detection. Senators Cassidy and Hirono have demonstration their commitment to protecting coverage services for seniors, veterans and first responders, prioritizing education on cancer, expanding funding for biomedical cancer research, limiting youth access to tobacco and more.

The gala earned the #4 spot among all charity benefits on BizBash’s Top 100 Events in Washington, D.C. for 2018, and is recognized as one the most influential annual events in Washington.

Gala décor is personally designed by weddings and celebrations expert David Tutera, who is a member of the Foundation’s Board and will attend the event.

The evening will include an opportunity for guests to bid on hotly-anticipated items in the silent auction. The auction is live on 501 Auctions and can be accessed here.
