Launched in 2006, the Foundation’s Community Grants program supports local cancer awareness education and screening programs across the United States for all populations, especially underserved communities. The program awards two types of grants: one-year development grants and two-year enhancement grants.
Due to the uncertain economy, a spring 2010 grants cycle will not be held. Please check back for future grant opportunities as the Foundation is dedicated to continuing support of cancer prevention and early detection programs at the local level.
In 2008, five community grants were awarded, and in 2007, we awarded eight community grants.
Also in 2007, the Foundation awarded ten one-time only community-level cervical cancer education grants on behalf of the Make the Commitment campaign and our partner organizations. These awards allowed local public health educators to tailor community programs for women and men on cervical cancer prevention.
