2009 Dialogue for Action

2009 Dialogue for Action®:
Harnessing the Power of Success

On the heels of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, the Prevent Cancer Foundation hosted the 11th annual Dialogue for Action®: Harnessing the Power of Success in Baltimore. The Prevent Cancer Foundation is dedicated to the mission of reducing the number of people who die from colorectal cancer in the United States. It has been estimated that 142,570 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2010, and 51,370 people will die from it. The goal of the conference is to increase colorectal cancer screening and provide tools and resources to use in planning and implementing education and screening programs in their communities and work environments.

As the creator and convener of this annual conference, the Prevent Cancer Foundation is committed to providing a forum to exchange ideas on the potential for increasing preventive services and colorectal cancer screening — in spite of the current health care crisis. The concept of this conference is to spark a dialogue, create action and continue to make strides toward a cancer-free future.
