ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Prevent Cancer Foundation partnered with Kaleidoscope in a holiday entertainment variety show that will air on FOX on Thanksgiving Day. Kaleidoscope features Olympic skating champions (and cancer survivors) Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill, along with Grammy award-winning, and cancer survivor Olivia Newton-John to help address issues surrounding women and cancer. Other skaters and singers include Kristi Yamaguchi, Victor Petrenko, and David Archuleta.
In its third year, Kaleidoscope has evolved from Frosted Pink, an awareness concert that solely focused on survivors of breast and gynecological cancers, to a Kaleidoscope of all cancers that affect women, including lung, colorectal and skin. This program celebrates women and the roles they play in the battle against cancer as patients, caregivers, and advocates. Edge Entertainment created Kaleidoscope, together with sanofi-aventis and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), as a means of focusing on women and cancer to help raise awareness.
The Prevent Cancer Foundation chose to be a collaborating partner to expand the messaging and awareness of cancer prevention and early detection. “We are delighted to be a partner in this unique and positive endeavor,” explains Jan Mahrer, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The Kaleidoscope team of advocacy partners represents a wide variety and “colors” of cancers and causes.
